Given name Daryl Westfield Edwards, I grew up in the city of Boston.  I witnessed the love of my parents toward each other, toward my siblings and I, and toward our community.  From their professorships at universities like Harvard University and Northeastern University to ministry at the church my father pastored, I was exposed to heavy doses of faith, social justice activism, and love. 

 

     At an early age, I made the choice to follow in the footsteps of my parents through working with youth and families to spread GOD's love and to make the world a better place for the seemingly less fortunate. One painful reality I came to grips with was the challenge faced by children without a strong male figure in thier lives.  

 

     An epiphany came after writing over 1,000 letters to youth in the juvenile justice system to connect them to social services. Of the letters I wrote, I changed the salutation from "Ms." to "Mr." only four times.  In other words, 99.6% of the time, I was writing to a single mother.

 

     Was the root of the reason the youth needed services, the absence of an active father figure?  If not, certainly the benefit of a healthy family structure would have been helpful.  The relationship between man and woman was and is the key. 

 

     Whether two people opt to be married or not, the success or failure of families and subsequently society, rests on the ability of women and men to give and receive love.  I was so arrested by the significance of this truism, I wrote and published four books at once about the subject.  

 

     The result... the Audacity to Love book series.  Social media engine, Facebook, has relationship designations "single", "it's complicated", and "in a relationship". To address the totality of relational statuses, there is a book for each of the three and a compilation book for anyone interested in them all.  Available in French, Spanish, eBook, and audiobook formats, also.
